The secret to surviving wilderness experiences is to draw “life” from the most reliable source – God Himself! This is what David calls “the path of life.” See how David and Isaiah found life in the “scorched places.” I found the Lord’s presence to be incredibly encouraging during my scorching Stage IV cancer battle. You can too – here’s how – click on the video and follow notes below:
1) True LIFE is in a Person.
Psalm 16:11 – You will make known to me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; In Your right hand there are pleasures forever (More here on how to experience life eternally).
John 10:10 – The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.
2) True LIFE is available in any and every situation – no exceptions!
-Yes, even cancer battles!
Isaiah 58:11 – And the Lord will guide you continually and satisfy your desire in scorched places and make your bones strong; and you shall be like a watered garden, like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail.
3) True LIFE has alternatives to avoid.
Ephesians 5:18 – And do not get drunk with wine, for that is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit.
Isaiah 55:1-3 – “Ho! Every one who thirsts, come to the waters; and you who have no money come, buy and eat. Come, buy wine and milk without money and without cost. Why do you spend money for what is not bread, and your wages for what does not satisfy? Listen carefully to Me, and eat what is good, and delight yourself in abundance. Incline your ear and come to Me. Listen, that you may live.
